Chinese tennis star Li Na has own wax figure at Wuhan Madame Tussauds

World number five Li Na of China became one of the latest players to have her own wax figure at the Madame Tussaud’s Museum. Her likeness made out of wax can be seen in the Wuhan branch of Madame Tussaud’s. Wuhan is Li Na’s home city, the capital of Hubei Province.

With this milestone, Li Na became the first Asian athlete to have a wax figure featured in the Wuhan Madame Tussauds. She’s currently ranked number five in the world and considered one of the most popular personalities in China. She’s also one of the highest paid athletes in the world.

Li Na won the French Open title in 2011 and reached the finals of the Australian Open twice. She’s set the record to become the first Asian player to win a Grand Slam singles title. The Chinese superstar reached the semifinals of the recently concluded US Open 2013 tournament in New York.
