To commemorate the tenth anniversary of the China Open, world number one Novak Djokovic will face off against Asia’s number female tennis player Li Na in a “Battle of the Sexes” exhibition match on September 27 at the National Tennis Center in Beijing according to the report from China Daily website.
The profits from the exhibition match will all be donated to the youth tennis development program of the Soong Ching Ling Foundation.
The China Open 2013 tournament will feature the world number one players from both the ATP and WTA Tour. Top-ranked Djokovic will be entering this event as the defending champion. Top-ranked women’s player Serena Williams, who just won her 17th Grand Slam singles title at the US Open last weekend, will be gunning for a tenth title this 2013 in Beijing.
US Open men’s singles champion Rafael Nadal is slated to compete at this tournament and so as world number two and US Open runner-up Victoria Azarenka.
