Andy Murray unsure about Australian Open 2014 participation

World number four Andy Murray said that he’s unsure whether he can compete at Australian Open 2014 tournament, saying that he will compete if he’s already “100 percent” fit.

“I hope so, but I’m not going to come back unless I’m 100% fit. I’ve got a long way to go yet,” said Murray

The British tennis star was bestowed with an Order of the British Empire (OBE) honors in London this week. Murray has already pulled out of tournaments in the remainder of the season. He won’t be taking part of the Paris Masters and the ATP World Tour Masters which will take place in the next few weeks.

“I’ve been in the swimming pool and on the bike a little bit but it’s still going to be four or five weeks until I’m back on the tennis court hitting some balls”

“The rehab process is pretty tedious and long and I don’t want to come back too soon and have to start that process all over again. I’ll only come back when I’m 100% fit and I hope that’s at the beginning of the year.”
