World number 22 Grigor Dimitrov got to meet with the Swedish royal family after winning the If Stockholm Open title on Sunday. The young Bulgarian got to meet Crown Princess H.R.H Victoria, H.R.H Prince Daniel and Princess Estelle.
Dimitrov was invited by the Swedish royals for a private meet-and-greet session at the Royal Prince Lounge. The Bulgarian produced an upset in the Sunday’s final after he defeated top-seed and world number three David Ferrer in the final. It was Prince Daniel who awarded the trophy to Dimitrov during the awarding ceremony.
“It was lovely to meet them, it was very nice. The baby was very cute and very quiet,” Dimitrov said.
Dimitrov achieved a career-high ranking of number 22 after winning the Stockholm title. He became the first male Bulgarian player to win a title in the Open Era.
