Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal to fight for China Open 2013 title

Number one seed Novak Djokovic will face-off against rival, Rafael Nadal, the number two seed, in the final of the China Open 2013 tournament on Sunday after both players won their semifinal matches in contrasting fashion.

Djokovic progressed to the final after the Serb defeated Richard Gasquet of France 6-4, 6-2 while Nadal won when Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic retired while trailing 2-4 in the first set due to back injury.

This will be the 38th edition of the Djokovic vs Nadal match on the ATP tour with Nadal leading the head to head series at 22-15. By reaching the final, Nadal has overtaken Novak Djokovic in the rankings and will become the world number one once the data are released on Monday.

Djokovic aims to end a three-match losing streak against Nadal. Their most recent meeting was a month ago at the final of the US Open Championships where Nadal prevailed in four sets.

The Serb is a three-time champion in Beijing while Nadal won the lone title in 2005.
