Roger Federer drops to world number seven as of October 7, 2013 rankings

Swiss tennis superstar Roger Federer saw his ranking drop to world number seven yet again due in part of inactivity in the past few weeks since his fourth round loss at the US Open last month.

As of October 7, 2013 rankings, Federer is back in number seven with 4,515 points. Two weeks ago, his ranking rose to number five but with strong performances made by Tomas Berdych and Juan Martin Del Potro in the past two weeks, it was inevitable that his ranking will fall once more. Berdych reached the semifinals of the ATP 500 China Open last week while Del Potro won the ATP 500 Japan Open Tennis Championships.

Federer will have a chance to improve his ranking at this week’s Shanghai Rolex Masters.
