Andy Murray’s mom to get an honorary degree

Andy Murray’s mother, Judy Murray, will be receiving an honorary degree by the University of Sterling due to her outstanding contribution to the tennis, charitable causes and to the sport in general.

“Judy Murray provides an outstanding example of what can be achieved with focus and determination. Whether in her role as a mother, a coach, or a charity fundraiser, her positive mindset is inspirational,” said Professor Gerry McCormac, University of Sterling Principal and Vice-Chancellor

“I am delighted that she will receive this honor at Scotland’s university for sporting excellence and on the courts where her outstanding sons once practiced alongside our students. I am sure our many graduates at the ceremony will also be inspired by her achievements as they prepare for their future careers.”

Murray will receive the honorary degree at the Gannochy National Tennis Center in Sterling this Friday. She’s currently the captain of the British Fed Cup team.
