Bernard Tomic invited to pre-season training with Hewitt and Tony Roche

21-year old Australian Bernard Tomic is getting a lot of help during the pre-season training.

According to reports, Australian tennis legend Tony Roche has invited the young pro for a pre-season training with him and two-time Grand Slam champion Lleyton Hewitt.

“I just offered that if he was stuck [for a coach], he was very welcome with us up here. I know they’ve just relocated to Melbourne, and obviously they’ve got very good facilities down there, but he can come up here any time,” Roche said in an interview with Fairfax Media.

“Bernard’s Davis Cup results have been excellent, and I think it would probably be great for him if he could get that going throughout the year, and just be consistent with that, because to me he’s a big-match player and he likes that stage, and you can’t coach that – you’ve either got that or you haven’t, and he’s lucky that he’s got that. So, look, it’s very important for him to get the right [coach], but if he doesn’t come up with somebody during this Australian season that Pat and Josh and Lleyton and myself are all there to help him, and it’d be good if he could feel like he’s in the Davis Cup environment. I’d like to see him use us to help him through this period until he gets somebody,” he added.

Roche has worked with high profile tennis players including Pat Rafter, Ivan Lendl and Roger Federer in the past.
