Djokovic gets more motivated to player better as 2013 season closes

World number two Novak Djokovic said that he’s more motivated to player better considering that he’s picked up momentum since his final loss at the US Open to rival Rafael Nadal. The Serbian went on to successfully defend the titles at the China Open in Beijing and Shanghai Masters. He’s currently reached the semifinals of the Paris Masters where he will face Roger Federer.

“I played really well in the Grand Slams, even though I thought I could have won at least one more,” he was quoted as saying.

“I had tough matches against Rafael Nadal at the French Open and the U.S. Open and now he’s number one. He deserves to be there with the results he has had throughout the season. He’s definitely been playing the best tennis in 2013. Now it’s the last few weeks of the season and I just feel extra motivated to play better and better as the weeks go by. In China I had probably the best two weeks of the year—except for the very beginning of the year—so it gives me a lot of confidence. I feel that I’m back where I need to be,” he added.
