Gasquet’s former coach might join Roger Federer’s team

Reports have surfaced that Riccardo Piatti, the former coach of Richard Gasquet who bolted off the day before the Frenchman’s final match at the ATP World Tour Finals in London, might become the new coach of Roger Federer. Piatti has coached Gasquet for more than two years.

Federer’s team is composed of coach Severin Luthi, Yves Allegro, fitness trainer Pierre Paganini and physio Stéphane Vivier.

Luthi reportedly also coaches Federer’s compatriot Stanislas Wawrinka from time to time and also is the captain of the Davis Cup team for Switzerland. Should Piatti gets hired, he will potentially be helping out with the coaching duties.

Federer had ended the coaching partnership with Paul Annacone a few months ago after more than three-years of working together.
