Martina Hingis no plans to make WTA comeback in 2014

Former top-ranked player Martina Hingis reportedly has no plans to make another comeback at the WTA Tour by 2014. This was known by Tennis.com

Late last year, the Swiss star returned on tour by competing in five doubles tournaments with Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia. However, the results have been dismal with the pair failing to advance to the second round of any of the tournaments they have participated. After an opening round loss at the US Open ladies doubles, Hingis opted to skip tournaments during the Asian swing.

The 33-year old Hall of Fame inductee has stated in previous interviews that she’s not yet sure whether she wants to revive her professional tennis career. She’s slated to participate in a series of exhibition tournaments in Australia by January but it remains to be seen whether she will attend those or back out.
