Milos Raonic awarded Canada’s Male Tennis Player of the Year for third time

Milos Raonic was once again named Tennis Canada’s Male Player of the Year for the third consecutive year on Monday.

Raonic has had a stellar 2013 season which saw him breaking inside the world’s top ten for the first time. He’s ended the season as world number 11 and poised to make a return in the elite top ten with strong results in the first part of 2014.

Raonic’s ranking soared after making it to the Rogers Cup final, the first Canadian to do so since 1958. He won two ATP tour titles and helped lead Team Canada to its first-ever Davis Cup World Group semifinal.

“It feels great to be honoured with this award from Tennis Canada for another year. It was definitely a good season for me, and it’s been incredible to receive so much support from Canadian fans. Being able to play at home at Davis Cup and Rogers Cup, it was amazing to see how passionate Canadians can be about tennis. I’m looking forward to 2014 now, and working hard to achieve everything I can,” Raonic said.
