World number one Rafael Nadal and number three David Ferrer faced off in an exhibition match in Lima, Peru on Sunday. In their singles exhibition match, Nadal defeated Ferrer 7-5, 6-4. Earlier, Ferrer and a local player teamed up to defeat Nadal and his partner.
“Our goal is that they see some great tennis. We go to play anywhere in the world. First,
because we want to make a good impression and so that people will attend the matches, so they will watch on television, and so they will
enjoy a match of real tennis,” Nadal said after the event.
Both Spaniards received a red-white Peruvian National Soccer team jersey during the press conference.
