Richard Gasquet’s coach ends partnership with French star

Frenchman Richard Gasquet found himself without a coach prior to his final match at the recently concluded ATP World Tour Finals in London.

According to reports, the coach of the world number 9 – Riccardo Piatti – ended their partnership without further notice and it happened in the day before his final match against Novak Djokovic last Saturday. Piatti has worked with Gasquet for more than two years.

When asked about this development, Gasquet only said that it will be for his now former coach to explain the reason why he left.

Gasquet lost the match to Djokovic and failed to qualify to the semifinals. Djokovic would go on to successfully defend the title last Monday when the Serbian defeated Rafael Nadal.

It was the second time that Gasquet qualified for the season-ending event.
