Vera Zvonareva poised to make WTA comeback by 2014

Former world number two Vera Zvonareva of Russia is reportedly making a comeback by 2014. The 29-year old two-time Grand Slam finalist had to miss a significant part of the 2012 and 2013 seasons due to nagging injuries to her hip and shoulders. She last played at the 2012 London Olympics where she lost in the fourth round to eventual champion Serena Williams.

The Russian tennis star recently posted photos of herself practicing in Bradenton, Florida which is her training base. She will reportedly use her protected ranking by next season which will enable her to get direct entries to tournaments.
