Ana Ivanovic believes she’ll make a return to world’s top ten

Former world number one Ana Ivanovic of Serbia is setting a target to be back in the world’s top ten by 2014 season. The Serbian star, who won her maiden Grand Slam title back at the French Open in 2008, is motivated than ever to make this goal a reality.

“My game is almost at the level where it should be,” Ivanovic said in an interview with the New Zealand Herald. “I am very motivated and I will have to work hard, but I definitely believe that I’ll be back in the top 10,” she added.

Ivanovic is currently ranked 16th in the world.

“Last year I was competing with the best in the world, I was close to victory over (Victoria) Azarenka at the U.S. Open. This was an important step, because I haven’t played well against the best players on one of the Grand Slam tournaments for a long time.”

The Serbian also added that back when she held the top position back in June 2008, she felt that she was not ready for it due to pressure.
