Andy Murray admits feeling “rusty,” Australian Open 2014 in doubt

Wimbledon 2013 champion Andy Murray revealed to his fans via his social networking account that he’s feeling “rusty” as he prepares for his comeback on tour. The British tennis star had a back surgery a few months ago and has started training in time for the 2014 season.

Murray is currently training in Miami. He’s slated to compete later this month for the exhibition event in Abu Dhabi then proceed to Doha for the Qatar Open tournament. Murray opted not to defend the Brisbane International title.

Murray returned to court about a couple of weeks ago and gives his fans updates on the developments.

“Going to try and play points today for the first time since surgery…. #rusty” – he recently tweeted.

The Australian Open 2014 begins on January 13 and Murray has stated in previous interviews that he would like to participate in the first Grand Slam event of the season if he is a hundred percent fit. Murray reached the final last year where he lost to Novak Djokovic.
