World number two Novak Djokovic of Serbia will be defending the Mubadala World Tennis Championship title for the third straight year after outlasting Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France 7-6, 6-3 on Friday. The Serbian tennis star will face third-ranked David Ferrer of Spain on Saturday’s final.
Ferrer earned his spot in the final after defeating compatriot and world number one Rafael Nadal 6-4, 6-4 in 90 minutes.
The Abu Dhabi event won’t have any bearing in the ATP rankings but has always attracted marquee players. It boasts $250,000 in prize money with only six participants in the event.
