Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal take part in “Tennis on the Glacier” exhibition match in Argentina

The Argentine Tourism Board has organized a “Tennis on the Glacier” exhibition match that featured the world’s top two players – Rafael Nadal of Spain and Novak Djokovic of Serbia. The match took place at the Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentina which provided a breathtaking backdrop.

The Argentine National Institute of Tourism Promotion (INPROTUR) organized the event on behalf of the country’s Ministry of Tourism. This is in a bid to promote the glacier which is one of the country’s prized tourist attractions.

“I never imagined I would find such an awesome place; this was a truly unique experience,” Djokovic said.

Nadal also tweeted about the experience:

“I’ve just been in one of the most spectacular places that I’ve ever seen, Perito Moreno is really amazing!” he wrote.

“It is very important to do these kinds of activities which promote our country to the world. Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are two icons of world sport, and this exhibition match puts Argentina on show before a global audience,” said INPROTUR and the Argentine minister of tourism President Enrique Meyer.

“Argentina is ready to receive each tourist who decides to visit with a great variety of destinations, high quality services and first class sports events, such as the Dakar Rally or the MotoGP, which will be in Argentina in January and April respectively. Our objective, through INPROTUR, is to promote our country around the world, showing the great diversity of landscapes and experiences on offer for the visitor. Recently we have launched the new promotional website of our country, where anyone thinking of visiting Argentina can get information on the different destinations in our country and know which activities they can experience in each of these,” he added.
