The world’s top two female tennis players will square off in an exhibition match that will take place in Thailand in December.
World number one Serena Williams will face number two Victoria Azarenka in an invitational event that takes place in Hua Hin, a popular resort in Bangkok. This development was announced by the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand.
This marked Serena Williams’ first appearance in the event while Azarenka has participated twice in the past.
Though this will not count in terms of ranking points and in head-to-head records, the two players are expected to give their best tennis as their rivalry resumes. Williams has a 14-3 head to head series record against Azarenka. The world number two was the only player to have defeated Williams twice in 2013.
