A lot of exciting tennis took place on Day 9, January 21 at the Melbourne Park. Starting with Eugenie Bouchard’s continuing fairy-tale run at the Australian Open. The Canadian reached the semifinals in her very first Australian Open. She was a qualifier last year but did not make it to the main draw. Tomas Berdych ousted higher-ranked David Ferrer of Spain to book a place in the semifinals. Li Na easily dispatched Flavia Pennetta to reach the final four.
