Novak Djokovic named as international ambassador for Peugeot

French automobile giant Peugeot has named world number two Novak Djokovic as the company’s new international ambassador.

This lucrative endorsement means that Djokovic will be featured in a number of ads from the French automaker. This announcement came in a year that also marked three decades of partnership by Peugeot with Roland Garros or the French Open. The company chose the Serbian superstar because he embodies the company’s brand values – Excellence, Allure and Emotion.

“I’m happy to represent a great French automobile manufacturer, recognised throughout the world, with an industrial history going back 200 years. In my eyes PEUGEOT embodies French elegance, refinement and the expression of a certain art of living,” Djokovic said.

Djokovic has made some changes in his team last month and named tennis great Boris Becker as his new head coach. Their partnership will be put to a test as Djokovic officially begins his 2014 campaign at the Australian Open which begins on January 13, 2014. Djokovic is a four-time champion in Melbourne and will be entering the event as a three-time defending titlist.
