Rafael Nadal reaches Qatar Open final, survives stern test from German qualifier

World number one Rafael Nadal survived another tough match at the ongoing Qatar Open 2014 tournament. The Spaniard ended the impressive run of 162nd-ranked Peter Gojowczyk of Germany 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 in a semifinal match that lasted almost two hours.

Nadal is the only seeded player left in the draw after surprise exits of David Ferrer, Andy Murray and Tomas Berdych earlier this week. This marked his 662nd match win which makes him 13th on the all-time list.

Nadal awaits the winner of the other semifinal match between Gael Monfils vs Florian Mayer.
