Sloane Stephens appoints Paul Annacone as full-time coach

American tennis player Sloane Stephens has officially appointed Paul Annacone as a full-time coach starting this 2014 season. It has been reported that Stephens and Annacone worked together for five weeks during the off-season. This development was reported in USA Today.

“I’m happy to add Paul as my coach for the 2014 season,” Stephens said in a statement. “His success as both a player and coach speaks for itself. We had a great preseason working together and I’m excited for the opportunity to continue working together.”

Annacone has stated recently that he won’t be travelling with Stephens to Australia but has since changed his mind and will coach the young tennis star starting at Sydney International next week.

Annacone recently coached Roger Federer in a partnership that lasted more than three years.

“That is a terrific opportunity,” Annacone said. “I’m going to have to get comfortable with it and understand the dynamics. She’s going to have to understand me.”
