Tomas Berdych secures first Australian Open semifinal spot after ousting David Ferrer

World number seven Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic secured a place in the Australian Open 2014 semifinals after ousting third-seed David Ferrer 6-1, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 on Tuesday. This will be Berdych’s first time to reach this stage in Melbourne.

Up next for Berdych is eighth-ranked Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland after the latter ousted three-time defending champion Novak Djokovic in an epic five-set match.
