Halep has a 1-0 head to head series lead over Kerber but this lone match took place five years ago in the ITF tour.
“A lot of people came here tonight to support me, and every day too,” Halep commented. “Every day they’re coming and I like having all the support. My family and close friends are here as well.
“I just wanted to thank them for supporting me and that I want them to come tomorrow again.”
“I will try to focus on my game,” Kerber said. “I will try to play aggressive, move well and just keep a consistent level, like I’ve played all this week, and use the momentum from today.
