Maria Sharapova’s star shines at Sochi Winter Olympics opening ceremonies

Tennis superstar Maria Sharapova stole the show during the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics as the Russian tennis superstar brought the torch into the Fisht Olympic Stadium in her home city of Sochi.

It can be remembered that Sharapova became the first female flag bearer for Russia in Olympic history at the 2012 Olympic Games. She’s once again invited to bring the torch in the Stadium in a very special place in her heart.

Sharapova has been in Sochi for more than a week where she served as an on-air correspondent for NBC network. The Russian was there to officially launch the newly-refurbished tennis court and hitting wall at the Riviera Park in Sochi. It was at this area where she first learned how to play tennis.
