Novak Djokovic believes there were “two or three titles” he could have won

World number two Novak Djokovic believes that he had lost two or three titles in the past two years due to a lack in mental edge. The Serbian was ousted in last month’s Australian Open quarterfinals by eventual champion Stanislas Wawrinka. As for this loss, Djokovic said that it did not have to do with gettign Boris Becker as his new coach.

“We’re not significantly changing anything in my game… no one-handed backhands, stuff like that,” Djokovic said to the reporters in Dubai. “The biggest part he can contribute is the mental approach. That’s one of the reasons Boris is here, because of the big matches and Grand Slams. I felt I dropped two or three titles in the last two years I could have won. I felt there was a mental edge I was lacking.”
