Rafael Nadal gets two Laureus Awards 2014 nominations, Bryan Brothers get nod for Kuala Lumpur

World number one ATP singles player Rafael Nadal and top-ranked ATP men’s doubles players Mike and Bob Bryan got nominations for the Laureus World Sports Awards 2014. The winners will be announced in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on March 26.

Nadal has been nominated in two categories, namely: Sportsman of the Year Award and the Comeback of the Year Award. The Bryan brothers were nominated in the Laureus World Team of the Year category.

In the Sportsman of the Year category, Nadal is up against racing driver Sebastien Vettel, sprinter Usain Bolt, runner Mo Farah and football star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Nadal had a stellar year in 2013 which marked his comeback from a seven-month injury break. He went on to win two Grand Slam titles (French Open, US Open) and five ATP Masters 1000 events. He had a total haul of 10 titles out of 14 finals which vaulted his ranking back to world number one by the end of the season. He reached the Australian Open 2014 final last month in Melbourne.
