Stanislas Wawrinka pulls out of Rotterdam tournament, Del Potro still unsure

Australian Open 2014 champion Stanislas Wawrinka has officially pulled out of the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam next week while defending champion Juan Martin del Potro’s situation remains unsure as he is still dealing with a serious wrist injury.

“Unfortunately I’m not in the form to compete in Rotterdam,” said Wawrinka, who won his Davis Cup match last Friday against host country Serbia. “I hope to be back on court very quickly.”

Del Potro has visited the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota last week to have her sore left wrist assessed and treated. The world number four had a right wrist surgery back in 2010. Should he pull out of the event, he will lose lucrative ranking points and could go as low as number six.
