Venus Williams believes she still has what it takes to win another Grand Slam title

Former world number one Venus Williams believes that she still has what it takes to win another Grand Slam singles title following her dominating performance at the Dubai Tennis Championships 2014 where she vaulted her way to the title. The American defeated Alize Cornet for the title.

This is Williams’ 45th career title and is currently second amongst active players with the most trophies. Her younger sister, Serena Williams, leads the pack with 58 titles.

“Winning all those Grand Slam titles, playing deep and getting to the final so many times, those are amazing accomplishments,” the 33-year-old said to the reporters. “It takes a lot of nerve and mental prowess. I’d like to think I’m on that path. But I’m not looking to do anything I did in the past, because I already did that. I’m looking to improve and be a better, smarter Venus. This week is obviously a step—every week for me is a step.”
