Andy Murray survives Rosol challenge at Indian Wells, marks 300th hardcourt win

World number six Andy Murray overcame a shaky start to defeat dangerous Czech Lukas Rosol 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 at the BNP Paribas Open 2014 Indian Wells. This is the British star’s 300th career victory on hardcourts.

The 2009 finalist is aiming to become only the sixth player in ATP history to win 10 or more ATP Masters 1000 titles. He will next face young Czech player Jiri Vesely in the fourth round.

Polish player Jerzy Janowicz lost his match against Alejandro Falla 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 despite leading 5-2 in the third set. Colombian Falla saved a match point and eventually marched his way to the third round at Indian Wells for the first time.
