Li Na wins again in rematch with Cibulkova at Indian Wells, reaches semifinals

World number two Li Na emerged a winner once more in an Australian Open 2014 rematch with Dominika Cibulkova in the quarterfinals of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. It was a tougher match than in Melbourne as Li Na would lose the second set and fought her way in the third to seal the victory 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.

Cibulkova had an early lead in the third set when she was up a break but Li broke back and from then on would retain the momentum and booked her place in the semifinals. The Chinese tennis superstar now has a 6-0 head to head series advantage over the Slovakian star.

This is Li Na’s second trip to the semifinals here at the Premier Mandatory event. She lost in the semifinals back in 2007 where she lost to eventual champion Daniela Hantuchova.
