Stanislas Wawrinka continues perfect record in 2014, reaches Indian Wells fourth round

Australian Open 2014 champion Stanislas Wawrinka reached the fourth round of BNP Paribas Open – Indian Wells on Monday after eliminating Andreas Seppi of Italy 6-0, 6-2. He’s now just a match away from facing compatriot Roger Federer in the quarterfinals should both players win their respective fourth round matches.

Wawrinka is now 13-0 this year following title wins in Chennai and in Melbourne. The 28-year old is currently ranked number three in the world and is the new number one player of Switzerland.

“Today was an amazing match,” Wawrinka said. “Can’t complain. Playing that great, it’s good. That level, it depends a little bit who you play, but I’m really, really happy with my match today. I’m moving really well, and every time I can play aggressive it makes a difference.”

Up next for Wawrinka is Kevin Anderson of South Africa after the latter eliminated lucky loser Evgeny Donskoy.
