Stefan Edberg to remain Federer’s coaching consultant for rest of 2014 season

Stefan Edberg and Roger Federer have reportedly agreed to continue with their coaching partnership for the rest of the 2014 season. This was revealed by Edberg in an interview with Swedish newspaper Expressen.

“We have told each other to try to keep the cooperation for the rest of the year,” Edberg was quoted as saying.

It has been reported late last season that Edberg will be acting as a coaching consultant to Federer for only 10 weeks. He is working together with Swiss Davis Cup captain and Federer’s main coach Severin Luthi. Edberg has joined Federer’s team during the Australian Open, Dubai and Indian Wells tournaments so far and his efforts seemed to pay off judging from the results posted by Federer.

Federer has a good start of the 2014 season which include a final appearance in Brisbane, semifinal at the Australian Open, title win in Dubai and currently in the quarterfinals at the Indian Wells. The Swiss star has upgraded his racquet with a bigger head frame.
