María-Teresa Torró-Flor emerged victorious on Sunday in the final of the Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem in Marrakech, Morrocco after defeating Romina Oprandi 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. This is her first career WTA title.
Torró-Flor became the sixth first-time WTA titlist this season after Garbiñe Muguruza (Hobart), Tsvetana Pironkova (Sydney), Kurumi Nara (Rio de Janeiro), Caroline Garcia (Bogotá) and Donna Vekic (Kuala Lumpur).
She goes home with $43,000 plus 280 ranking points while Oprandi received $21,400 and 180 ranking points.
