Roger Federer renews agreement to play at Swiss Indoors Basel

World number four Roger Federer is slated participate once more in his hometown event – the Swiss Indoors Basel after the Swiss superstar and the tournament organizers have come up with a new agreement.

Federer’s appearance in last year’s event was in doubt after both sides were unable to come up with a deal. The disagreement was reportedly due to appearance fees. Despite these speculations, Federer would go on to take part in the event.

“The situation has calmed down,” said the tournament director Roger Brennewald to the Swiss media this week.

The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Aside from Federer, other marquee players scheduled to participate include world number one Rafael Nadal and world number three Stanislas Wawrinka, who has signed a three-year agreement at the ATP 500 event.
