Stanislas Wawrinka leads ATP Race to London 2014 following Monte Carlo Masters win

Switzerland’s Stanislas Wawrinka is back at top of the ATP Race to London 2014 standings this week following his victory at the Monte Carlo Masters 2014 final on Sunday. Wawrinka defeated good friend Roger Federer to secure his first career ATP Masters 1000 trophy.

The ATP Race to London 2014 standings feature the ranking points accumulated for the season so far. He clinched the top ranking back in January when he won his maiden Grand Slam title at the Australian Open. He would lose the grip in the next few months after Novak Djokovic won the Indian Wells-Miami double but with the Serbian’s semifinal loss in Monaco, this gave Wawrinka the chance to reclaim the top ranking.

Djokovic drops to number two in the rankings while Monte Carlo Masters runner-up Roger Federer climbs one spot to number three.

Rafael Nadal is now in fourth place while Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic rounds up the top five.
