Grigor Dimitrov celebrated 23rd birthday with Rome Masters quarterfinal win

Grigor Dimitrov advanced to his first ATP Masters 1000 semifinal on Friday which happens to be his birthday. The young Bulgarian advanced after opponent Tommy Haas was forced to retire with a right shoulder injury. Dimitrov won the first set 6-2 before Haas stopped the match.

The 14th-ranked player could become part of the world’s top ten by the end of this week should he win the Rome Masters title and that Raonic won’t make it to the final of this premier event. Up next for Dimitrov is either top-ranked and defending champion Rafael Nadal or Andy Murray.
