Juan Martin Del Potro shares update on wrist rehabilitation

Argentine Juan Martin del Potro is currently taking a much-needed break after undergoing a left wrist surgery. Despite the break, he’s been updating his fans on the progress of the rehabilitation. Del Potro had surgery at the Mayo Clinic six weeks ago.

“Hello everyone! Here’s a video of the first stage of my recovery. It’s a long way to go, but I am working hard to return in the best possible way. Thanks for your messages!” he wrote.

Del Potro had a promising start of the season, winning the Sydney International title but posted dismal results since the Australian Open due to his left wrist injury.

“Dr. Berger was very pleased with everything about the examination. The ligament repairs have healed exactly as planned, and he will begin an intense period of rehabilitation for regaining motion and strength,” he said following the surgery.

There is no definitive date as to when he will be making a comeback on tour but there are reports that he might be back in time for the US Open.
