Tomljanovic stuns Agnieszka Radwanska at French Open

The top three seeds at the French Open 2014 women’s competition have been bundled out prior to the fourth round. This was after Croatia’s Ajla Tomlkanovic upset third seed Agnieszka Radwanska 6-4, 6-4 on Friday’s third round encounter. Top seed and defending champion Serena Williams lost in the second round while 2011 champion and number two Li Na was eliminated in the opening round.

It’s a remarkable achievement for Tomljanovic, ranked 72nd. She’s through to the fourth round of her maiden Grand Slam tournament.

“After seeing, you know, the two first seeds go out, you kind of feel like I can do this, too,” Tomljanovic said. “I grew up with these girls that are beating them.

“You go out I went on the stadium for the first time, and she kind of feels like home there, because she’s been there a lot more than I did. I went out there, and I really thought I could win. I think that showed and it is why I won.”
