Ana Ivanovic and coach Nemanja Kontic have parted ways. This development was known after Ivanovic posted this announcement on her website. According to her, her contract with Kontic concluded during the Wimbledon 2014 tournament and following “amicable discussions,” they’ve decided not to push through with a new one.
This was a surprising news for the many considering that Ivanovic is currently enjoying a banner year which saw her winning three titles so far and reaching the quarterfinals of the Australian Open (defeating top-ranked Serena Williams).
Ivanovic had said in past interviews that her recent surge in the rankings was due to a strong support from a team hailing from the same country as hers. She is reportedly expected to announce her new coach during the North American hardcourt season.
