In just four days after lifting his second Wimbledon trophy, Novak Djokovic has married his long-time girlfriend Jelena Ristic in a private ceremony held in Montenegro.
Djokovic and Ristic were reportedly married at a luxury resort located at the Adriatic coast. Local media reported that the memorable event was attended by family, friends and special guests. However, it was an intimate wedding and did not get media mileage.
Djokovic was fresh from defeating Roger Federer in a five-set final at the All England Club. He dedicated the victory to Ristic and their baby. Ristic is pregnant with their first child.
The couple has been together for more than eight years and the birth of their first child is expected to take place later this year.
The local media also divulged that the employees in the resort, including waiters and staff, had to sign confidentiality agreements in order not to divulge information about the union. They were also forbidden from using their mobile phones.
