The Rogers Cup 2014 Montreal Seedings has been revealed this week with world number one Serena Williams taking the top seed in the women’s WTA Premier 5 competition. This year’s WTA Rogers Cup will take place at the Uniprix Stadium in Montreal from August 1 to 10, 2014.
“We are very excited for this year’s tournament and that excitement has spread throughout all of Montreal,” said Eugene Lapierre, tournament director, Rogers Cup Montreal. “With the best players in the world, including Montreal’s own Eugenie Bouchard, here in town this year we know our fans are going to witness incredible tennis every single day. We can’t wait for the tournament to start.”
World number two Li Na announced that she won’t be participating this year due to knee injury and is doubtful for the US Open that will take place later in AUgust. Li Na follows world number two Rafael Nadal in the sidelines this year.
