Here’s the 2014 US Open 2014 Women’s Seeds List. The seedings were based on ATP rankings for the week starting August 18. Defending champion Serena Williams, the current world number one, is the top seed in this prestigious hardcourt Grand Slam event which runs from August 25 to September 8 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York. The American is fresh from a title victory at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati last weekend and won her third US Open Series title. This means that she can win as much as $4 million in prize money if she successfully defends the title in New York, effectively breaking the record she made last year of going home with $3.6 million in prize money.
