Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka are setting their sights in finally winning the first Davis Cup title for Switzerland. Federer is fresh from a semifinal finish at the US Open where he lost to eventual champion Marin Cilic. Wawrinka, on the other hand, reached the quarterfinals in New York and not to mention, the reigning Australian Open champion.
“We obviously are favorites,” the Swiss tennis superstar said. “We have a formidable team. We are playing at home and we chose the surface. We can do it.”
The Czech team, the two-time defending Davis Cup champion, aims to continue to streak by facing a tough French team featuring four players in the world’s top 30.
