Roger Federer to begin 2015 season at Brisbane International

World number three Roger Federer has made good to his promise to return at the Brisbane International in 2015. The Swiss tennis superstar will prepare for a chance to win his fifth Australian Open title by taking part at this hardcourt tournament which takes place less than two weeks before the first Grand Slam event of the season.

Brisbane International tournament organizers revealed on Monday that the 17-time Grand Slam champion will be part of the event which takes place from January 4 to 11 at the Queensland Tennis Center.

Federer made his debut at this ATP 250 event this year but lost in the final to Lleyton Hewitt.

Federer is currently competing at this week’s US Open in New York where he’s advanced to the fourth round on Sunday. He will next face Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain for a spot in the quarterfinals.
