Viagogo named as official ticketing partner for WTA Finals

The WTA revealed that viagogo, the world’s biggest ticket marketplace, has signed a 2-year sponsorship agreement to set up a ticketing marketplace for the upcoming WTA Finals Singapore.

The deal states that viagogo will become one of the Official International Ticketing Partners and the sole and exclusive Official Ticket Resale Partner of the WTA Finals. This will give tennis fans from all over to still get tickets via a secure online global platform. The WTA Finals will be hosted by Singapore in the next five years with the 2014 edition taking place from October 17 to 26 at the Singapore Sports Hub.

“We’re very proud to be working with the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global, which is our first tennis partnership in Asia. One of the highlights of the tennis calendar, this prestigious end of season event will be a festival of world-class tennis. We always like to work with the best, and with the world’s top female tennis players playing at a world-class facility in Singapore, we are very excited about this partnership with the WTA. Our goal is to provide tennis fans with a seamless ticketing experience no matter where they are in the world. We have a lot of experience successfully working on some of the world’s biggest sporting and entertainment events, and the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global will be no different,” said Steve Roest, Head of Business Development, Global, Viagogo.

WTA Finals Singapore Tournament Director Melissa Pine said: “It is exciting to be working with viagogo, as their business is all about enabling consumers to buy any ticket, for any event, from anywhere in the world. Through its service, all global events are now local, and we’re excited to give even more fans the chance to watch the WTA Finals.”

“viagogo shares our mission to give people access to great sporting events and to bring fans closer to the action. We’re delighted to welcome another global brand to our family of sponsors, who will help extend our reach to tennis fans worldwide,” said Andrew Georgiou, CEO of World Sport Group, the event promoter.
