France-Switzerland Davis Cup 2014 final tickets on sale October 10

The FFT (Fédération Française de Tennis) revealed that the France-Switzerland Davis Cup 2014 final tickets will be on sale starting October 10 exclusively for FFT members while it will be on sale to the general public on October 17 (0800 GMT).

The tickets can be purchased at these sites: www.fft.fr and www.stade-pierre-mauroy.com. Fans can purchase the tickets at selected affiliate shops in France.

The highly anticipated France vs Switzerland Davis Cup 2014 final match will take place from November 21 to 23 in Lille, France. The French will be hosting the Swiss team. They have met 12 times in the past with France winning 10 of those past meetings.

The Swiss team led by Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka will pose a huge challenge to French team led by Richard Gasquet, Gael Monfils and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. The competition will take place on indoor clay under a retractable roof of The Stade Pierre-Mauroy, a multi-use stadium that has a capacity of over 50,000. However, with the adjustments of the venue, this can seat more than 27,000.

ITF President Francesco Ricci Bitti said: “Lille will be a spectacular setting for one of the most eagerly anticipated Davis Cup Finals in years. It will be a fitting climax to a successful year for the competition that has seen strong player participation, sell-out crowds and excellent TV and media coverage.”

FFT President Jean Gachassin said: “French tennis is really looking forward to hosting such an exciting Davis Cup Final. I am particularly happy that it will be played before a record attendance in the beautiful city of Lille.”
