Novak Djokovic undecided in Paris, London due to birth of first child

World number one Novak Djokovic is undecided whether he can compete at the Paris Masters and the year-end ATP World Tour Finals in London due to the scheduled birth of his first child with wife Jelena Ristic.

During the China Open tournament in Beijing last week, Djokovic said that his wife was due to give birth in a few weeks, or in a month.

“We are expecting it to happen in about a month,” he said. “So for now I’m playing here. I’m playing Shanghai. I’m supposed to play Paris and London. Nothing particularly changes in terms of tennis schedule.”

The top-ranked player, who won his fifth title in Beijing, is currently competing at the Shanghai Masters where he reached the semifinals and will face Roger Federer for a place in the final.

The Serbian has always said that his family is his main priority while ending the season as world number one is his main professional goal.
